Tips for Playing Craps

It is fun and both easy to learn to play the game of craps and you could be a winner. Take a careful look at the play sequence that follows and be ready to play craps and be a winner!

First place your bet with the shooter who is rolling the dice. Choose between a ‘Pass Line’ or ‘Don’t Pass Line’ bet.

Once you have placed your bet, the shooter will roll the dice and it will be revealed whether or not you have won or lost.

If your bet has been a ‘Pass Line’ bet and then a seven or an eleven was rolled, you have won. If not, then you lost.

If your bet has been a ‘Don’t Pass Line’ bet and then a twelve or a two or three was rolled, you have also won. If not, then you lost.

When the roll comes up a four, five, six, eight, nine or ten, the game now goes to roll ‘Point.’

Now the shooter in order to win, must roll the same number again. Let’s say for example, that a six was the point number. Now the shooter must roll a six again. If the shooter rolls a second six, he then must roll a seven to complete his or her sequence. Without throwing a second six followed by a seven, the shooter loses his or her bet.

You can see that learning how to play the game of craps is pretty easy. The betting options that are available to you are also simple and fairly straightforward. The best bets to begin with are the Pass Line and Don’t Pass Line bets, as well as the Come and Don’t Come bets.

With each of these bets you have a 50% chance of winning. Try the Hard Line bets if you want to make bets that yield higher payouts.

The Placing of Pass Line and Don’t Pass Line Bets
To place a Pass Line bet, the player places his bet on the line along with the shooter. If the shooter rolls a seven or an eleven the player wins the bet.

When you place a Don’t Pass Line bet you are saying that the dice will come up a twelve, three or two. To place the bet, place it physically on the Don’t Pass line.

 
The Placing of Come and Don’t Come Bets
In the event that you happen to arrive at the craps table late and the first round of bets has already taken place, you don’t have to wait for the next game before placing a bet. If you want, you can join in by placing a Come and Don’t Come bet once the ‘point’ has been set.
A ‘Come’ bet means that you are betting that the shooter will make his point, that is he will roll two consecutive numbers followed by a seven. A ‘Don’t Come’ bet means that you are betting that the shooter will not succeed.

Placing a Seven Bet
This is a bet that you can place after the shooter has made his point. You are betting that he will now successfully complete his bet by rolling a seven. It is called a ‘Seven’ bet.
Placing a Big Six or Eight Bet
To win this bet the shooter must roll either a six or an eight before rolling the final seven after making his/her point.
Placing a Craps Bet
To win at this bet the shooter must roll a two, three or twelve.
Placing Hard Way Bets
These are very risky bets and not necessarily for those who are faint-hearted. Keep in mind that in spite of the fact that the odds are far more favorable when you win a hard way bet, the possibility of winning is much smaller. Hard way bets are based on rolling double numbers, such as rolling two 5’s or two 6’s. If a 10 or a 7 comes up before the double numbers are rolled, you lose.
